The crisp fall weather we have had in Philly lately has meant the return of a shorts, tights and boots combo on the weekends.  For some, summer signals that it's time to break out the shorts, but for me, that signal arrives in fall...

Fall Style Inspiration

It took a while, but now I'm finally excited about fall; of course a big portion of my excitement comes from fall fashion possibilities.  Here is some "Pinspiration" from my Fall Style Pinterest Board and some items I'd love to add to my fall wardrobe this season.

Summer will soon come to an end (so not ready...) unless I find some type of unbelievable deal, I'll only be purchasing items I can wear now while it's still warm and later with layers when fall arrives like this skirt. I look forward to remixing it with tights, ankle boots, a leather jacket and a scarf next time.  The idea of wearing fall clothing makes the thought of summer ending a little better.

How to Rescue a Dress from the Donate Pile

Happy Friday! I wore this dress which I found at a clothing swap last summer.   As a simple dress, I got a little bored with the color and was thinking about tossing it in the to-donate pile for my next thrifting trip.  But I decided to get a box of RIT Dye and see if I could give it a fresh look with color.  I'm happy with the results.  For a person who doesn't have sewing skills (yet), a box of dye is my favorite way to give clothing a new look.  If you have one, what's your favorite way to rescue items from the donate pile?

Double Printed

I thought I'd lost the top I'm wearing for most of 2012 only to find it in my childhood room during the holidays.  It's funny how finding an item you haven't worn in a while can spark new ideas on how to wear it.

Unseasonable

 I enjoyed the weekend's mild weather, but it felt a little odd to wear a leather jacket in the middle of January.  Am I the only one hoping for one good snow before winter ends? Just me?

Matching

I like the monochromatic look that has popped up this fall in fashion, but also still enjoy color blocking.  To me color blocking means mixing separates I really like and not being concerned about the colors "matching."  In the 90s, "matching" was a big deal for me so it's funny to think that I now dress with seemingly disparate pieces in a way that I never would have as a middle and high schooler.
