I can't believe August is over, this summer flew by so fast!  There are only a few official weeks to go.  Why it took me so long to wear this dress as a skirt, I have no idea, but better late than never.

With fall right around the corner, I've not only been thinking about fall fashion, but also goal-setting for the remainder of the year.  I've been particularly focused on creating goals related to health.  I have a penchant for 30 day challenges, so after reading about a 30 day nutrition regime called the Whole30 from this lady, I plan on participating in the Whole30 for the month of September.  Items like grains, legumes, alcohol, dairy, and sugar are no-no's on the Whole30. 

 I have a serious weakness for carbs and sugar and would like to start the new season off with better nutrition habits.  Talking about this intention on the blog also adds a level of accountability that I wouldn't have if I just committed to doing the program without telling people. So if anyone else has a similar goal, let me know so I can cheer you on during the month!

But even if you aren't interested in the Whole30, what goals are you planning to set for the fall?

I retire it for the season in order to embrace cooler weather colors and prints.  I'm loving summery maxis skirts so much that I'll definitely hunt for a couple to wear this fall on my next swapping or thrifting trip.  Stay tuned for my complete fall wish list soon.

Flashback: Red and More Red

Hi all! So Everybody, Every Where day snuck up on me again and as I looked around for inspiration for this month's theme, Monochromatic.  Nothing really struck my fancy so I decided to look through my blog's  archives for a monochromatic look and came across this outfit from the summer of 2010.  I would link to the original post but accidentally deleted the it while looking through my archives...#fail.  What can I say, it's been a long day.

I realized while taking a quick trip down memory lane that I don't really do the monochromatic thing all that often...I must remedy that.  It will be fun to do other monochromatic looks in the jewel tones this fall.

Now, I'd better get off the Internet now before I accidentally delete something else.

Petite Fall Style: Shop the Kids Section

I went online yesterday to look for a denim jacket in the kids sections of a few stores and got distracted by some of the cute fall items they have in stock. Yes, I occasionally shop the kids section and I would totally wear any of these outfits. As a petite, shopping for cute, age-appropriate clothing that fits is sometimes a challenge, but options are more easily available now, especially if you're willing to wear the same styles as your daughters, nieces or god-daughters...

Btw, this is the denim jacket I chose.

This Zara top is the items I picked up in the past few weeks at swaps and thrifting excursions.  I always manage to find great thrifted and swapped items during the summer.  I try to get at least a few wears out of this ten year old dress every season which I had no idea would last so long when I purchased it.

Because I love summer so much, it's hard to believe the season is almost over.  To be honest, I've been in a bit of denial about the season ending soon but it's hard to deny now that my fall magazines are starting to arrive in the mail...I have them neatly set aside until I'm ready to turn my eye to fall fashion.  I'll give it another week before I start looking (and thrift shopping) for fall wardrobe additions.
