Summer will soon come to an end (so not ready...) unless I find some type of unbelievable deal, I'll only be purchasing items I can wear now while it's still warm and later with layers when fall arrives like this skirt. I look forward to remixing it with tights, ankle boots, a leather jacket and a scarf next time.  The idea of wearing fall clothing makes the thought of summer ending a little better.

I'm not usually a shorts-wearing girl, but multiple 90+ degree days makes me bring out one of the few pairs I own.  

Monday came around kind of fast this week.  Who else is wishing the weekend was a tad bit longer?

New to Me

These days  some of my favorite purchases like this skirt (a pre-shopping hiatus buy) are not new, but they are "new to me".  I never tire of the feeling of finding something I really like in a thrift store or second hand shop.  Whether I buy something new or second hand, I still follow the shopping rule of my childhood: if you love it, and can afford it, you buy it.

Inauguration Day

This outfit worn to brave the crowds at Inauguration Day was chosen with comfort rather than style in mind.  As much as I love dressing up, tromping around the National Mall and Capitol Hill called for jeans, walkable shoes and a furry vest.

Though it's a favorite, I always struggle with figuring out how to style this skirt.  Since I just featured Allie of Wardrobe Oxygen it's appropriate that my outfit is somewhat Allie-inspired with my blush colored skirt.

 
I think others will agree that reading blogs, living in areas with stylish people, and perusing websites like Pinterest make using inspiration to put your own spin on personal style easier that it's ever been before.

I love starting off the week with warm weather and sunshine.  It seems like a good omen for the rest of the week even if the weather changes right?

On another note, I enjoy wearing these pants as much in warm weather

 as much as I did during cooler weather.
