We got a preview of the approaching humid summer heat in Philly this week.  I have a feeling that like previous summers, outfits like these will be my summer professional uniform: sleeveless tops, skirts and much smaller purses than I usually carry around.  I suspect it will be simply too hot to cart a lot of stuff around.  I'll have to get used to going without my spare pair of shoes, snacks, reading material and the numerous other things I've had the habit of throwing in my purse...

Flashback: Preppy

Happy Friday! So I'm trying to limit my clothing shopping until I finishing decorating my apartment (I have a way to go...).  Because I'm doing less clothing shopping, now is a good time as ever to take a peek into my wardrobe past and hopefully get excited by my existing wardrobe at the same time.

I actually haven't worn these pieces together since I last wore this outfit in April 2012....shame on me. Preppy inspired looks never go out of style, so I'll definitely wear this again. Don't be surprised if you see me walking around Center City Philly with this outfit next week : )

Flashback: Red and More Red

Hi all! So Everybody, Every Where day snuck up on me again and as I looked around for inspiration for this month's theme, Monochromatic.  Nothing really struck my fancy so I decided to look through my blog's  archives for a monochromatic look and came across this outfit from the summer of 2010.  I would link to the original post but accidentally deleted the it while looking through my archives...#fail.  What can I say, it's been a long day.

I realized while taking a quick trip down memory lane that I don't really do the monochromatic thing all that often...I must remedy that.  It will be fun to do other monochromatic looks in the jewel tones this fall.

Now, I'd better get off the Internet now before I accidentally delete something else.

Preppy

I have no problem with giving away clothing that haven't gotten frequent wear, I don't have a walk-in closet after all. As a result of my willingness to part with items, I have had a remorse over some clothing that I gave away or sold that I should have held onto for another season or two until the trend circled back again.  I almost gave this shirt away in a cleaning frenzy last season, but am happy I held onto it. It's a keeper, at least for the time being. 

This outfit was inspired by an outfit in the spring J. Crew catalog. I'm afraid, I can't show you a picture of the inspiration because I have since recycled it; it didn't make the "keep" cut when I recently cleaned off my coffee table...
