What do you do when one of your favorite maxi dresses (previously worn in this post, this one and this one) starts to look faded from washing?  Well, if you're me, you buy a box of RIT Dye and dye it. I really liked the original print of this maxi dress and wasn't ready to part with it, so dying it black was a practical solution.

How do you extend the wear of your well worn (and loved) items?

Happy Monday! This maxi skirt is another example of the swap luck I experienced over the summer.  After seeing this maxi skirt which is entirely out of my budget, I resigned myself to not having a snakeskin printed skirt this season and resolved to buying some inexpensive snake skint printed jeans instead.  But then I found this maxi skirt at a swap at Black-Eyed Susie on 14th Street in Columbia Heights, so this outfit was clearly meant to be.

Seasonal Favorite

The weather in DC has been a bit unpredictable this spring, so I've only recently unpacked some of my spring clothing.  This maxi dress worn as a skirt was one of the items I unpacked.  I had forgotten how much I liked this maxi purchased a few years ago in New York.   I've gotten my wardrobe to the point where I truly love the majority of the items I own and don't mind rotating them regularly.  This maxi is a favorite that will go back into heavy rotation as it has since I purchased it in New York a few years ago.
